Superfood: Watermelon

By

What’s more refreshing and nutritious than sipping on our watermelon mint juice? Not much at all, thanks to its main ingredient—that perennial summer favorite, the watermelon.

Sweetly delicious on its own, the fruit is made even more crave-worthy when we add the bright flavor of mint. But even if it weren’t as tasty as it is, we’d still want to eat it for health reasons.

For starters, the Vitamin A found in watermelon is important for optimal eye health, and does a terrific job of boosting the immune system. Meanwhile, it’s also full of Vitamin B6, which further helps the immune system by producing valuable antibodies that we need to fight many diseases.

Watermelon’s also packed with Vitamin C—a huge boon to the fight for youthfulness, since it can protect the body from harmful free radicals that are known to accelerate aging. Moreover, it can help bolster the immune system’s defenses against infections and viruses.

It also carries plenty of arginine, an amino acid that one study shows enhances fat oxidation and boosts lean muscle.

With all of that, you’ve got one seriously powerful fruit. And when you add in mint, you get a bonus of relief during seasonal allergy seasons, better digestion, and an extra infusion of Vitamin A to support healthy skin and your immune system even more than before.

So dig into watermelon all summer long, as often as possible, by either eating or drinking it. If you’re looking to do the latter, you’re in luck; we’ve put our watermelon juice back on the menu—it’s in our stores now!
