One of the most exciting things about the opening of our third location at Healthworks in Back Bay is that, for the first time, we’re now offering not just juice, but also food. And just like our juices and smoothies, it’s all as tasty as it is healthy.
The food you take in becomes your body on a molecular level. Instead of consuming empty calories that deplete the body and therefore how you look and feel, it’s important to think about every bite as it impacts you from the inside out.
So let’s take a moment to do just that with one of our newest menu items, the Replenish & Revitalize Salad. It has the ability to nourish your body, satisfies your hunger, and ground you for the new season. Plus, it’s addictively delicious: a mixture of organic local mixed greens, tomatoes, cucumber, radishes, carrots, pumpkin seeds, dried cherries, and a beet juice/superfood dressing.
Here’s what’s in it and what it will bring you:
Radishes: They detox and eases digestion, deliver iron and vitamin C for healthy circulation and strong hair.
Cucumbers: They’re rich in silicon, a beauty mineral that’s essential for healthy connective tissue, and skin hydration and elasticity. They’re anti-inflammatory, cleansing, and help support weight management.
Greens: A good source of folate, for healthy cell repair and silicon for strong hair, nails, and skin.
Cherries: Full of the antioxidant quercetin, which help prevent UV damage, and are also an antihistamine that may reduce allergy symptoms.
Carrots: They’re chock full of Vitamin A to support healthy skin, hair, nails, and eyes. Carotenoids like those in carrots have been known to lower risk of breast cancer in women.
Pumpkin seeds: These anti-inflammatory ingredients contain zinc for clearer skin. They also produce calming serotonin and have anti-aging nutrients like omega-3s, vitamins A, B, and K, plus minerals such as niacin, magnesium, iron, and copper.
Superfood/beet dressing: Beets are full of betaliains, the phytochemical that increases the body’s production of glutathione, (a beautifying nutrient that deoxifies, stimulates cell function, and aids in detoxification). They contain collagen-building Vitamin C, iron, beta carotene, and vitamin K to defend against bruising and support healthy bones. Beets also contain lycopen, a plant chemical that helps maintain youthful skin elasticity and defends against sun damage.
